"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. Would you build a house on sand? Yes, of course, it is possible to do using posts which go deep into the ground, but that's a lot of work, and it defeats the principle of the story.
Sand is moved around by just about anything. Why would you want the foundation of your home to be so malleable? Wouldn't you want a firm substance? I know I would.

May you go today and put Jesus' words into action, and be like the wise man.
